A ten-year-old collecting business cards should’ve been the first sign that she’s growing up to be a designer.

Hi, I’m Katia, and that ten-year-old was me. I still have that collection by the way and it’s only getting bigger from here. Since childhood, I’ve had a fascination with literature and the arts and when I realized the two could be combined, the rest was history. In my work, I’m inspired by traditional practices as far back as the 16th century, often looking for ways to integrate it in such a digital age. I also look towards a range of storytelling media in addition to books, such as film, television, video games, and music. I have experience in a variety of mediums and programs, but my favorites include ink, graphite, watercolor, InDesign, and Illustrator. 

When I don’t have my nose stuck in my Mac or my sketchbook, I’m playing a handful of instruments including saxophone and melodica, taking pictures of my cat, Hi There, or working with my sister on our latest costuming project.
